The close connection between academic education and professional artistic practice characterizes the three study courses “Dance, Context, Choreography“ (Bachelor of Arts), “Solo/Dance/Authorship“ (Master of Arts) and “Choreography“ (Master of Arts) at the HZT Berlin. The study courses offer an experimental approach to study, combine practice-led artistic and research driven education, and practical career guidance. It provides a practice led and research driven education in contemporary dance, choreography and performance. Nurturing individual artistic development, the contextualisation and critical reflexion of art and art practice are integral components of the curricula. Focus is placed on creatively and critically addressing what dance, performance and choreography are and can be as art forms, in today’s diverse social and cultural environments. The HZT is primarily located at the Uferstudios in Berlin Wedding. Thus providing an umbrella for education, professional artistic production and dissemination, which facilitates the exchange between artists, students and the public, at one location. THE HZT Berlin is the joint responsibility of the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK) and the Hochschule für Schauspielkunst “Ernst Busch“ (HfS) in cooperation with TanzRaumBerlin, a network of the professional dance scene. > MORE
